The Belgian Timothy Van Houtem will once again come face-to-face with the Spaniard Pablo Dapena at CHALLENGEMADRID 2019. It will be the second consecutive year that these two great triathletes will fight for the title at CHALLENGEMADRID. The Belgian returns to Madrid in a bid to win his third consecutive title, having recently participated in the Embrunman, the mythical triathlon in the Hautes-Alpes held on August 15th, in which he finished in 4th place with a spectacular time of 9:55:20.
The former long distance World Champion from 2018 and this year’s runner-up behind Javier Gomez Noya, Pablo Dapena from Galacia, is determined to break the spell between him and Timothy from CHALLENGEMADRID 2018, where he came second to the Belgian. His objective will be to seize the 750 CHALLENGEFAMILY World Bonus Ranking points, awarded to the winner of CHALLENGEMADRIDC, which would put him in the top three in the ranking.
