Sold-out events in Almere and Montréal join a world-class professional field in Samarkand, with free live broadcasts from The Netherlands and Uzbekistan
Close to 10,000 athletes will race across three continents this weekend as Challenge Family hosts major events in The Netherlands, Canada and Uzbekistan.
Sold-out fields at Challenge Almere-Amsterdam and SAIL Challenge Montréal underline the continued strength of age-group triathlon and the demand for quality, athlete-focused racing, while Challenge Samarkand will welcome a high-profile international professional field for an exciting day of world-class racing in the historic heart of Uzbekistan.
Together, the three events showcase the global reach and diversity of Challenge Family, with thousands of athletes taking on races in three distinctive destinations, united by the same athlete-first experience and finish-line spirit.
Sold-Out Racing at Challenge Almere-Amsterdam
One of the most established and respected races in international triathlon, Challenge Almere-Amsterdam returns with another sold-out field on Saturday 12 September and also doubles as the European Triathlon Long Distance Championships.
Renowned for its fast, flat course and rich history, Almere will once again bring together leading professional athletes, including race favourites Jesper Svensson and Milan Brons, along with thousands of age-groupers for a celebration of both long and middle distance racing in The Netherlands.
The professional race will broadcast live, free and without geographical restrictions, from 7:00am CEST on Saturday 12 September at challenge-family.live.
Thousands to Race at SAIL Challenge Montréal
Across the Atlantic, SAIL Challenge Montréal will also welcome a sold-out field of over 4,500 athletes for a major weekend of age group racing in one of Canada’s most iconic sporting cities.
The event’s sell-out reflects the firm stronghold Challenge Family has created in Canada along with sister event SAIL Challenge Québec earlier in the year. Competitors will experience a full three-day festival of sport for all ages and abilities, including the iconic bike course around the Formula 1 Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit.
International Stars Head to Challenge Samarkand
Challenge Samarkand will provide the weekend’s second major live professional broadcast, featuring a high-profile international field competing against the spectacular backdrop of one of the world’s most historic destinations. Those on the start line include Sam Laidlow, defending champions Will Draper and Sara Pérez Sala, plus top British athletes Cameron Main and Daisy Davies.
The race offers a distinctive combination of world-class competition, modern event delivery and the ancient culture and heritage of Uzbekistan with the course taking athletes through the UNESCO World Heritage Area past architectural highlights of the Old Silk Road.
The action will broadcast live, free and without geographical restrictions, from 6:50am local time on Sunday 13 September at challenge-family.live with commentary by Belinda Granger.
