This weekend, all eyes turn to Türkiye’s iconic Gelibolu Peninsula as Challenge Gallipoli welcomes hundreds of athletes from around the world for the second edition of this race through history on Sunday, 4 May 2025
Challenge Gallipoli offers a unique course steeped in ancient and modern history, surrounded by natural beauty and emotional significance. Starting at the Old Gendarmerie Pier, athletes begin their day with a 1.9km swim in the cool, clear waters of the Dardanelles, a location that serves as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the World War I battle.
The race continues with a one-lap 90km bike course that leads athletes past ANZAC Cove, through the trenches and historic battle sites of the Çanakkale Land Wars, and up the legendary climb to Conkbayırı. This challenging but scenic course also passes through Alçıtepe village before heading back to T2.
The 21.1km run takes athletes on three laps along the Gelibolu coastline, once again passing ANZAC Cove. It’s a moving and awe-inspiring experience that finishes at the heart of the peninsula’s natural and historical wonders.
Whether racing for a podium spot or to experience the unique setting, Challenge Gallipoli 2025 is set to be a standout age-group race in the European triathlon season.
