THE CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION

The Championship is borne of the same thing that drives our athletes! The passion to push limits, to perform at our best and enjoy what we do in style.

The Championship wraps everything into an unforgettable race experience and an unparalleled race venue. Our unique qualifying system celebrates our 35 plus Challenge Family races across the globe. Therefore, at every race athletes are able to secure a spot at The Championship!

All races are qualification races for THE CHAMPIONSHIP:

One slot for each of the top six finishers in each male and female age group at Challenge Family long distance and middle distance races

One slot for each of the top six finishers of the male, female and mixed relay teams at all Challenge Family long and middle distance events (where relays are conducted)

One slot for each of the top three finishers in each male and female age group at Challenge Family Olympic distance races

For relay teams: Team structure at The Championship must comprise a minimum of two members of the qualifying team racing at The Championship

Slots will roll down in each category up to 12th place in long and middle distances races. There will be no roll down for Olympic distance races

Qualifiers will have two weeks to confirm their spot after the qualifying race after receiving the invite to benefit from Early-Bird pricing

Qualifiers will receive their slot by email after the race

Professional Athlete Slots for THE CHAMPIONSHIP:

WORLD BONUS

CHALLENGEFAMILY is proud to have a pro athlete bonus scheme connected to its races. The initiative provides professional athletes with the opportunity to race for a share of a USD 100,000 end-of-season bonus as well as a prize purse at the races.

The USD 100k bonus will pay five deep across both men and women with the top ranked pro taking home $22k, second will earn $14k and third will win $8k, fourth $4k and fifth $2k. Ranking will be decided through a points system based on placings earned.

Athletes are only able to count their best six CHALLENGEFAMILY races during the season, of which no more than one can be a full distance race. In the advent of a tie the prize money will be averaged between the two athletes and corresponding places.

For all other CHALLENGEFAMILY race prize purses and full breakdowns, please go to the individual race websites or contact Belinda Granger: belinda@challenge-family.com
