It is a double celebration in Fortaleza this coming weekend: as Challenge Fortaleza makes its
return, the city is also marking a monumental historic milestone – reaching 300 years since
officially acquiring city status.
Challenge Fortaleza can best be described as racing in paradise, where white sandy beaches,

finish and two podium appearances, one of which was a victory. Racing in his home country,
all the ingredients are present for a triumphant day. Fellow Brazilian Lukas Cabral will also
compete in front of the home crowd, aiming to make his local fans proud.
Looking to prevent a home victory are Spain’s Andrés Cendán Llorens and Portugal’s
Alexandre Miguel Bernardino Nobre. Although Toldi stands as the primary favorite, the
battle for the title remains completely open.
Women’s Field: Mikelle Coelho Carries Home Hopes
The dynamics are equally competitive in the women’s field, where Brazilian contender
Mikelle Coelho appears to have the best odds for victory. She stands as the sole local
contender carrying the home nation’s flag in the elite field. However, stiff international
competition is expected, primarily from Spain’s Ana Maria Santiso Prado, Argentina’s
Romina Biagioli, and Elizabeth Nyitray of the United States.
