Austria’s stunning Tyrolean Alps will once again set the stage for one of the most scenic and competitive races on the triathlon calendar: Challenge Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee, taking place on 29 June 2025. Among the names already confirmed on the start line are two of Austria’s brightest triathlon stars – Tjebbe Kaindl and Therese Feuersinger – both looking to make a big impression in front of a home crowd.
For Tjebbe Kaindl, the race is more than just another event. The Olympian and World Triathlon Series regular hails from nearby Bad Häring and first dipped his toes into the sport as a child at the Junior Challenge in Walchsee. Now, with five professional wins and twelve podium finishes to his name, Kaindl returns as a seasoned pro – a living testament to the pathway from grassroots to greatness that Challenge Family so proudly champions.
Meanwhile, Therese Feuersinger is eyeing redemption. After a mechanical issue took her out of contention in 2024, the multiple Austrian national champion is more determined than ever. A four-time Sprint distance and 2022 Olympic distance national champion, Feuersinger brings fierce competitiveness and hometown pride to the race – and will be one to watch come race day.
Challenge Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee is known for its unique blend of natural beauty and athletic challenge. Athletes will tackle a 1.9 km swim in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Walchsee, a technical and scenic 90 km bike ride through alpine terrain, and a half marathon along the lake’s shores that never fails to inspire.
With a mix of international contenders and passionate local support, this year’s edition is shaping up to be unforgettable. Whether racing, cheering from the sidelines, or tuning in from afar, Challenge Kaiserwinkl-Walchsee promises world-class racing with heart.
