CHALLENGERICCIONE to be the centre of international triathlon on the 4th and 5th May 2019.

On the 4th and 5th May 2019, Challenge Riccione will be taking place once again but this time with lots of interesting new features.

On Monday, 15th October, at 10:00 a.m. (Italian time) registration opened for CHALLENGERICCIONE 2019 and hours later, the first 300 entries were sold out. Next year’s event will be organized by Challenge Italy, a partnership between CHALLENGEFAMILY and Triathlon-Duathlon Rimini guaranteeing the usual high quality technical management of the race. Alessandro Alessandri remains Race Director and has announced some important changes: “The cycling route will be different from the previous editions but will still have the technical characteristics of previous routes. Continual gradient variety during the bike element, fluidity of the run, spectacular routes and the warm welcome of Romagna will remain our strong points. Similar to last year, the start and finish line will be in the Riccione Terme, together with all the race logistics. We are looking into changes to the run route which we will reveal as soon as they have been defined.” A long weekend in Riccione in May 2019 that will not only include the middle distance triathlon race, but also a Festival with a schedule full of side events and other attractions.
The new Swim-Bike race will make its first appearance after becoming part of the World and European Multisport Championships with a 1900 m swim followed by a 90 km cycling component.
In accordance with tradition, a Triathlon Sprint and Youth Duathlon will round up the weekend’s program of events.
Just some of the rich menu highlights that will attract many athletes and supporters from all over the world to Riccione and not just assure continuity but also look to the future with the objective of international growth.

We believe in the event and its potential and with the creation of this new association, Challenge Italy, we want to ensure that CHALLENGERICCIONE will be a regular feature in Riccione for many years to come and above all, transpire to be one of the main events of the national and European race calendar. We will be slowly unveiling more and more new attractions to the weekend of events in our aspiration to host not just a spectacular triathlon race but indeed a festival of sport. The date has been set and we look forward to seeing you in Riccione next May 2019′
