Challenge Family Welcomes Eight New Races for 2024

We’ve got eight exciting new Challenge Family races confirmed for the 2024 race calendar with several more set to be announced early in the year! Which of these finish lines will you be crossing in 2024?

Challenge Israman, Israel – 1 March
We very much hope peace comes to the region soon for everyone’s sake, and athletes can take on the legendary Challenge Israman course – it’s tough, honest, unique and strikingly beautiful! In addition, the host city of Eilat is one of Israel’s holiday hotspots, warm all year round with golden beaches on the shores of the Red Sea, and plenty of activities for the whole family plus the bonus of tax free shopping! The perfect destination for a trication!

 

Challenge Malaysia – 3 March
If you’re looking for a tropical triathlon, you’ve found it with Challenge Malaysia! Easily reached from both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur international airports and with the flagship middle distance on 3 March, Challenge Malaysia will also host sprint distance and Junior Challenge events on 2 March, providing an inclusive weekend of sport for all ages and abilities.

 

Challenge Cesenatico, Italy – 12 May
With its port canal designed by Leonardo da Vinci and an Adriatic coastline defined by golden beaches, Cesenatico is a highlight of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. It features a technical and hilly bike course in the hills above the coast and is a renowned cycling destination and host of the second stage of the Tour de France 2024. There are endless golden beaches for the ultimate post-race holiday and and unforgettable fast flat run through the spectators along the beachfront with that unbeatable Italian atmosphere.

 

Challenge Gallipoli, Türkiye – 2 June
Possibly one of the most evocative triathlon destinations, Gallipoli needs no introduction as one of the defining battles of the First World War. Challenge Gallipoli is set over the middle distance in the heart of the protected historical area with its rugged and battle-marked landscapes and a far-reaching views over the Dardanelles, offering athletes a unique triathlon experience that extends far beyond the sport itself.

 

SAIL Challenge Cap Québec powered by Argon 18, Canada – 21 July
With its vibrant French culture and warm hospitality, Québec is an unforgettable race destination and the course is set in the heart of Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage treasure. The athletes’ village is along the majestic St Lawrence River with the bike course heading along the Dufferin-Montgomery freeway, before running through 400 years of history and an unforgettable finish line in the Port de Québec.

 

Challenge New Jersey State Triathlon, USA – 21 July
Challenge New Jersey State Triathlon sells out every year with 3,500 participants and it’s not hard to see why! It’s set in the beautiful Mercer Country Park in the heart of New Jersey and centrally located and super easy to reach. As the largest triathlon in New Jersey and one of the top 20 in USA it’s also one of the fastest, flattest courses in the country and features a beautiful lake swim with little to no current.

 

Challenge Sandefjord, Norway – 24 August
With its beautiful coastline, many beaches and exciting history, Sandefjord is a popular summer destination. A compact centre with restaurants, museums and a good atmosphere. The region has Norway’s oldest discovery of Viking settlements, one of Norway’s oldest cities and the “end of the world”!

 

 

SAIL Challenge Esprit Montréal, Canada – 6-8 September
The three day event will mark the 40th anniversary of the original Esprit de Montréal Triathlon which each year attracts over 3,000 athletes to the Olympic venue in the heart of Montréal, Québec. The race features a multi-lap cycling experience on the legendary Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, famous for hosting the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix. This becomes the perfect backdrop for the fastest bike course in the country. The final event features a run course set on the iconic site of the 1976 Olympic Games before crossing the finish line overlooked by the biosphere!
