Elites from the world of cycling promote Anfi CHALLENGEMOGAN-GRANCANARIA 2021, which will take place on the 25th of April 2021. The most eagerly awaited triathlon of the season will see over 500 triathletes at the race, which will be carried out under a meticulous sanitary protocol designed especially for the occasion, guaranteeing maximum protection of the athletes.
Anfi new name sponsor of the race
Anfi CHALLENGEMOGAN-GRANCANARIA is the only international race on the Gran Canaria island, and has the support of the Council of Gran Canaria; the Instituto Insular de Deportes de Gran Canaria; the City Council of Mogán and the Gran Canaria Tourist Board. For the upcoming years, the event will also be supported by Anfi. The hotel group will be the new name sponsor of the event. “We will use the hotels of Anfi as our official headquarters, and expect the best triathletes in Europe, just like every year.”
The organisation stresses that it will deploy a rigorous mechanism to avoid contact between the participants, in order to safeguard the health of the competitors. Because of these measures, the organisation expects the race to be a huge success again. “We are sure that Anfi CHALLENGEMOGAN-GRANCANARIA will arouse much interest and excitement for triathlon lovers, who are longing to race again after many months of inactivity due to the lack of races.”
José Luis Trujillo, General Manager of the Anfi Group, stated that “this new promotional event by the Anfi Group represents our support for top-level sports, without forgetting the various social projects that we are always working on. This step forward constitutes a way to consolidate the Anfi brand and present its image internationally.” During the Anfi Challenge presentation, Trujillo emphasised that this triathlon could be “the best Anfi ambassador in the world”.
Elite athletes see Gran Canaria as the perfect destination
International renowned cyclists Mikel Landa (Bahrain McLaren), Román Kreuziguer (NTT Pro Cycling) and Mario Cipollini (2002 World Champion) all proclaimed that they are very proud to support Anfi CHALLENGEMOGAN-GRANCANARIA, which will be -no doubt- one of the highlights of the season, held in paradise for this sport. “This is a very attractive competition in a unique setting, nowhere else in the world can you find safety, sun and roads like the ones in Gran Canaria at this time of year. It’s the best setting for races, training and safety you can dream of.” World Windsurf Champions Daida and Iballa Ruano agreed, indicating that “We are on an island which is perfect for training and relaxing with the family. Despite the great uncertainty we are experiencing, Anfi´s dedication and commitment to sport in all its disciplines is the best way to promote Gran Canaria throughout Europe.”
