Two-time World Champion Vincent Luis makes his Long Distance debut at DATEV Challenge Roth 2025

Great news for triathlon fans: two-time short-distance world champion and Olympian, Vincent Luis, will make his long-distance debut at DATEV Challenge Roth on 6 July 2025. The top French triathlete, who has already celebrated numerous successes over the short and middle distance, will take on the challenge of a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike ride and 42.2 km run for the first time.

“Twenty years ago I jumped in a car with my parents to drive all the way to Roth for my dad to do his first ever long distance, in a few months my parents will jump in their car to drive all the way to Roth to see me do my first ever long distance. The circle of life doesn’t get any better than that doesn’t it?” says Vincent Luis about his special connection to Roth.

Triathlon fans can look forward to a high-calibre race with Vincent Luis. The Frenchman will compete against some of the best long-distance triathletes in the world and trying to achieve a strong result on his debut. Alongside Henri Schoeman and Aaron Royle, Luis is one of three athletes who competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
